LLM Wiki for Obsidian (hereinafter referred to as "the Extension") is a Chrome browser extension that helps users send URLs and text content from their browser to the Obsidian application running on their local machine. We attach great importance to user privacy protection. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle your information.

The Extension does not collect, store, or transmit any of your personal information to external servers. All data processing happens locally on your device.

- Local Configuration: The Extension stores your Obsidian server address configuration in your browser's local storage. This data remains on your device and is never transmitted externally.
- No Tracking: We do not use any third-party tracking tools, analytics, or advertising SDKs to track your usage behavior.
- No Account Required: The Extension does not require any registration or login.
Permissions Description
The Extension requests the following permissions to function properly:
storage: Used to save your Obsidian server address configuration locally in your browser.
contextMenus: Used to add the "Send to LLM Wiki" option to the browser's right-click menu.
scripting: Used to display a brief toast notification on the page when content is successfully sent.
http://localhost:27124/*: Used to communicate with the Obsidian application running on your local machine.
You can manage these permissions at any time in your browser's extension settings.
How Your Data is Handled
When you use the Extension:
- You select text or a URL on a webpage and choose to send it to Obsidian
- The Extension sends this content to your local Obsidian application via HTTP on localhost
- Obsidian processes the content using the LLM Wiki plugin
- All processing and storage happens within your local Obsidian application
No data is sent to any external server except your local Obsidian application.
Third-Party Services
The Extension does not use any third-party services. All functionality is implemented locally.
Data Security
Since the Extension does not collect or transmit any data externally, there are no data security concerns related to server storage or transmission. Your content remains on your local device within your Obsidian vault.
Children's Privacy
The Extension is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect any information from children under 13.
